Rogier Dorsman Biography

Dorsman faced several injuries throughout his career. In January 2023, he broke a scaphoid bone in his wrist during a gym session. He also suffered a broken finger in mid-2020. A shoulder injury prevented him from competing at the 2016 Dutch Youth and Junior Short Course Championships in Amsterdam.

Training Regimen

Dorsman trains between 30 and 35 hours a week, dedicating 20 hours to pool sessions. His rigorous training schedule reflects his commitment to the sport. He is coached by Bram Dekker at the national level.

Memorable Achievements

One of Dorsman's most memorable moments was winning three gold medals at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. His outstanding performance earned him the Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau (fifth class) in 2021. He also had the honour of being the flag bearer for the Netherlands at the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Games.
