Ryan Bayley Biography

Bayley trains six days a week at the Australian Institute of Sport's cycling base in Adelaide. His routine includes three double sessions of gym work in the morning and track work in the afternoon. He also has four track sessions each week, three or four gym sessions, a road ride, and occasional ergometer trials.

International Debut

Bayley made his international debut in 2000, representing Australia at the World Championships in Italy. This marked the beginning of his successful career on the global stage.

Achievements and Awards

One of Bayley's most memorable achievements was winning the gold medal in the sprint event at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2005 and was named Cycling Australia's Cyclist of the Year in 2004.

Bayley also received accolades as Cycling Australia's Male Track Cyclist of the Year in 2001 and 2004. In October 2001, he became the youngest world champion in the history of the keirin event at 18 years old.
