Despite her successes, she faced significant challenges. After the 2017 World Championships in London, an elbow injury required surgery in February 2018. This injury caused her to miss the 2018 European Championships in Berlin. She returned to competition in 2019. Earlier, she had shoulder surgery in late 2014, which kept her out of action for 15 months.
Her family has been the most influential force in her career. She also looks up to Norwegian javelin thrower Andreas Thorkildsen as her idol. Her sporting philosophy is encapsulated by her motto: "It's the magic of risking everything for a dream that nobody sees but you."
In August 2019, she moved to Oslo to train under Thorkildsen. "I found a coach who understands me," she said. This move was pivotal for her career, providing new learning opportunities and motivation to surpass her personal bests.
A notable moment came when Croatian discus thrower Sandra Perkovic gifted her a javelin signed by Thorkildsen after she won bronze at the 2014 World Junior Championships. This gesture added extra motivation for her.
Looking ahead, she aims to win a gold medal at the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo. With her current form and determination, she is well-positioned to achieve this goal.
Outside of athletics, she enjoys reading, cycling, and roller skating. Fluent in Croatian, English, and German, she continues to inspire many with her journey and achievements.
