McMann pursued higher education in Performing Arts at Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania. She was also a member of the varsity men's team coached by Carl Poff. Additionally, she attended the University of Minnesota-Morris, where she was coached by Doug Reese.

Wrestling Career

McMann is affiliated with the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club based in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Her coaches include Carl Poff, Rocky Bonomo, and Tim Hutchins. One of her most memorable achievements is winning a silver medal in the 63kg freestyle event at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Blackford was a three-time NCAA All-American wrestler and a law student at the Catholic University of America. The accident occurred near Brush, Colorado, while they were traveling to Washington DC.

McMann was charged with careless driving causing death and pleaded guilty. She received a six-month unsupervised probation sentence and was ordered to complete 24 hours of community service.
