Gauzy began playing table tennis at age seven in Berat, France. His father bought a table tennis table for the family. Initially, he played both tennis and table tennis. By age 10, he chose to focus solely on table tennis.

Club and Coaching

Gauzy plays for TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen in Germany. His coaches include Yong Fu at the club level and Patrick Chila for the national team in France. He is right-handed, which influences his playing style.

Injuries and Challenges

Gauzy faced significant injuries throughout his career. In 2012, an ankle injury prevented him from qualifying for the London Olympics. In late 2017, he suffered a herniated disk, requiring surgery and causing him to miss four months of competition.

Olympic Experiences

Gauzy missed the 2012 Olympics due to injury but qualified for the 2016 Rio Games. However, he was disappointed with his performance there. He aims to use these experiences as motivation for future competitions.
