Monty studied Commerce at Ramjas College in New Delhi. He is fluent in both English and Hindi. His coach, Arun Kumar, has been instrumental in guiding him through his athletic career. Monty has also competed in non-Para javelin at the national level, including the 2021 Indian Grand Prix event in Patiala.

One of Monty's most memorable achievements is winning gold in the F64 javelin throw at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. He considers this victory as the most special moment of his life. Monty was also named as one of the flag bearers for India at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
