His father remains the most influential person in his career, while Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Alexander Karelin is his idol.

Achievements and Recognition

His dedication to judo paid off when he won gold at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. This victory earned him the Order of Friendship from the president of Russia. Additionally, he holds the title of Honoured Master of Sport in Russia, a testament to his prowess in judo.
