Safin's interest in fencing started in the third grade when his coaches introduced the sport to his class. Unlike his peers who were into football and hockey, he found fencing unique and captivating. This early inspiration set him on a path that would lead to numerous achievements in the sport.
Education and Training
Safin pursued higher education in Physical Education at Ural State University of Physical Education in Ufa. He trains with the Central Sports Army Club and the Ufa Fencing Sports School of Olympic Reserve. His coaches include Ilgar Mamedov, Ruslan Nasibullin, and Lira Grushina.
Achievements and Recognition
One of Safin's most memorable achievements is winning gold in team foil at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. His success continued at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where he received the Order for Merit to the Fatherland from the president of Russia.
In addition to these honours, Safin was awarded the Order of Friendship for his gold medal at the 2016 Olympics. He also holds the title of Honoured Master of Sport in Russia, awarded in 2016.
