Liebscher trains between 25 and 30 hours a week. He is a member of Kanu Club Dresden and is coached by Jens Kuhn at the club level and Arndt Hanisch at the national level. His dedication has earned him multiple accolades, including being named Sportsman of the Year in Dresden in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

Academic Pursuits

In addition to his athletic career, Liebscher is also a student. He studies Transport and Logistics at the Technical University of Dresden. In April 2020, he returned to his studies due to the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. He adapted to online courses as the university was in emergency mode.

Personal Life

Liebscher resides in Dresden with his partner Dora Lucz, who is also an accomplished canoe sprinter. Lucz has represented Hungary and achieved notable success, including a sixth-place finish in the K1 200m at the 2019 World Championships in Szeged, Hungary. She has also won multiple gold medals at European and world junior championships.
