Triyatno's journey in weightlifting began with a simple visit to a club with fellow weightlifter Eko Yuli Irawan. The coach's promise of free hotels and overseas trips was enough to get him hooked. His early success as a teenager set the stage for a promising career.

He trains with the PABBSI Kalimantan Timur club in Indonesia under the guidance of national coach Dirdja Wihardja. His dedication to the sport has been evident throughout his career.
