The Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026 auction is set to ignite excitement as Olympic champions, world champions and India's biggest wrestling names headline a power-packed player pool ahead of the January 3 bidding war.

With the league scheduled to run from January 15 to February 1, franchises are preparing for an intense auction battle, targeting proven medal-winners and high-impact stars as PWL gears up for its long-awaited return.

When & Where Is the PWL 2026 Auction Taking Place?

The PWL 2026 player auction will be held on January 3, officially launching the new season. The event is expected to draw major attention, with teams eager to secure marquee Indian and overseas wrestlers across multiple weight categories. The auction will be held at Hotel ITC Maurya, New Delhi.

Six Franchises Set for the New Season

Six teams will compete in the upcoming PWL season: Haryana Thunders, Tigers of Mumbai Dangals, Punjab Royals, Maharashtra Kesari, Delhi Dangal Warriors, UP Dominators.

Each franchise will aim to build a balanced squad by blending elite international performers with India's strongest domestic wrestlers.

PWL 2026 Auction: Star Names & Base Prices

With Olympic medallists, world champions and emerging Indian talents available, the January 3 auction is expected to shape the competitive landscape of the season. Smart bidding and value picks could define early favourites ahead of the league's January 15 kick-off.

Aman Sehrawat Leads Indian Wrestlers

Paris Olympics bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat enters the auction as the most expensive Indian wrestler, setting a base price of ₹18 lakh. The 21-year-old has rapidly established himself as a leading force in Indian freestyle wrestling, backed by podium finishes at the Olympics and Asian Games. His recent suspension related to weight-management issues has been lifted by the Wrestling Federation of India, clearing him for PWL action.

Deepak Punia, a world and Commonwealth Games medallist, is listed at ₹10 lakh, alongside Commonwealth Games gold medallist Naveen, placing them in a strong premium domestic bracket.

Among the notable value picks is Sujeet Kalkal, widely regarded as one of India's top wrestlers, who has entered the auction at a base price of ₹7 lakh, making him a potential steal for franchises.

Overseas Men's Category Packed With Champions

The foreign men's category boasts elite pedigree. Abasgadzhi Magomedov (Russia), a former world and European champion, is priced at ₹10 lakh, alongside Arman Andreasyan (Armenia), a world medallist, and Iszmail Muszukajev (Hungary), the 2023 world champion and Paris Olympics fifth-place finisher.

Also listed at ₹10 lakh are Arsen Harutyunyan (Armenia), a multiple-time world and European medallist and Olympian, and Usmanov Akhmed (Russia), the reigning world and European champion.

Women's Wrestling: Olympic Gold Headlines the Auction

In the Indian women's category, Antim Panghal, a world championship medallist, leads the domestic list with a base price of ₹10 lakh. Anshu Malik, eyeing a comeback, is also listed in the same bracket. Swati Shinde, the National Games champion, and former world silver medallist Pooja Gahlot are expected to draw competitive bids.

The overseas women's list is headlined by Yui Susaki (Japan), the Tokyo Olympics gold medallist and Paris bronze winner, who has set a base price of ₹18 lakh, the joint-highest among women. She is joined at the top by Yusneylis Guzman Lopez (Cuba), the Paris Olympics silver medallist.

Adding further depth to the pool are Oksana Livach (Ukraine), Christinah Tolulope Ogunsanya (Nigeria), Elnura Mammadova (Azerbaijan), Bilyana Dudova (Bulgaria), Iryna Koliadenko (Ukraine) and Odunayo Folasade (Nigeria)-all listed at ₹10 lakh, highlighting the strength of the women's field.
