Former WWE champion Bray Wyatt passed away at the age of 36 on Thursday (August 24), leaving millions of WWE fans in shock.
Wyatt - whose real name is Windham Rotunda - will be remembered for his innovative wrestling. With his characters, Wyatt consistently pushed the boundaries in the world of wrestling entertainment.

The news of Wyatt's shocking demise was shared by WWE's chief content officer and superstar Triple H on social media. WWE also expressed grief over the death of one of their most popular stars.
"WWE is saddened to learn that Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 24, at age 36. WWE extends its condolences to Rotunda's family, friends and fans," WWE said.
As per reports, Wyatt was suffering from a career-and-life-threatening disease for some time and that is why he was out of action in the last few months.
Triple H wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda - also known as Bray Wyatt - unexpectedly passed earlier today. Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time."
Wyatt began his journey in the WWE in 2009. He was released from the WWE roaster between 2021 and 2022 but he made a triumphant return in September last year with a mysterious storyline featuring cryptic vignettes which boosted television ratings.
'The Fiend', a supernatural character introduced in 2019, will be one of his most iconic creations in the WWE universe. The Fiend, with his terrifying clown-like mask, presented a stark contrast to Wyatt's kid-friendly alter ego, Firefly Funhouse.
Such dual dual-character concept showcased Wyatt's versatility and creativity. He constantly strived to break the boundaries. The Fiend captured the audience's imagination and became a highlight of WWE programming. His last appearance on WWE was during the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Paying rich tribute to Wyatt, WWE superstar 'The Rock', Dwayne Johnson, wrote on X: "I'm heartbroken over the news of Bray Wyatt's passing. Always had tremendous respect and love for him and the Rotunda family. Loved his presence, promos, in-ring work and connection with the WWE universe."
Johnson, who is now one of the most successful Hollywood actors, wrote further, "Very unique, cool and rare character, which is hard to create in our crazy world of pro wrestling. Still processing losing the goat, Terry Funk yesterday and now Bray today. My love, light, strength & mana to the Rotunda family and Funk family during this tough, heartbreaking time. As always, 'thank you for the house'."
