She began her journey in artistic swimming in the first grade of primary school in Shiga, Japan. Inspired by a competition she watched on television, she decided to try the sport. She has been a member of the Imura Artistic Swimming Club in Japan and has trained under coach Masayo Imura since 2002.

In 2016, she was presented with the Shiga Prefecture Citizen Sports Grand Prize. These accolades highlight her contributions to the sport and her consistent performance over the years.
She made history by becoming the first artistic swimmer representing Japan to win a gold medal in a solo event at the world championships. She achieved this milestone in the solo technical routine at the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
