Arunovic began her shooting career at age 15 in Belgrade. The tragic loss of her father in 2000 led her to become withdrawn. Her family encouraged her to join her sister at the shooting range. "I was suffering a lot after my father died. My sister insisted that I should go to training with her," she said.

Training and Coaching

She trains for at least three hours daily and includes a one-hour fitness session four times a week. Her coach since 2010 has been her older sister Jelena Arunovic, who represented Serbia in shooting at multiple world championships. Jelena's deep understanding of Zorana has been crucial to her success.

Achievements and Awards

Arunovic has received numerous accolades throughout her career. She was named the 2018 Female Shooter of the Year by the Serbian Shooting Federation. In 2011, she received the Majska Nagrada award, the highest honour from the Serbian Sport Federation. She was also named Sportswoman of the Year in 2010 by both the Serbian Olympic Committee and the Association of Serbian Sport Journalists.

Olympic Ambitions

Despite her success at world championships, European championships, European Games, and World Cup Finals, an Olympic medal has eluded her. "The Olympic Games are a huge motivation for me because it's the only medal I don't have," she said. Winning an Olympic medal remains her biggest driver.

Her sister Jelena is the most influential person in her career. Swiss tennis player Roger Federer and Serbian shooter Jasna Sekaric are her idols. Her sporting philosophy is to "never give up, no matter how hard it is." She finds inspiration in the success of other athletes.

Outside of shooting, Arunovic enjoys fishing, music, photography, and learning foreign languages. Her interest in Ukrainian language and literature was motivated by Ukraine's success in shooting sports. "Ukraine was a great power in shooting sports," she said.
