She started her swimming career in Romania and is currently affiliated with Club Sportiv Steaua Bucharest. Her coaches are Philippe Lucas from France and Doina Sava. This strong support system has been instrumental in her development as a swimmer.

International Debut

Her international debut came in 1998 when she competed for Romania at the World Championships held in Perth, Western Australia. This marked the beginning of her journey on the global stage.

Family Influence

Her father, Grigore Potec, has been a significant influence in her life. He was not only a competitive swimmer but also played basketball, handball, and soccer. She considers him her hero and idol.

Ambitions Beyond Swimming

Looking ahead, she plans to continue working in the sports world after her swimming career ends. This ambition reflects her deep-rooted passion for sports and her desire to contribute to the field even after retiring from active competition.

Floating Hotel Project

In addition to her swimming career, she has ventured into tourism. She used some of her prize money, along with European subsidies, to fund a floating hotel aimed at boosting the Baila tourist industry. The hotel is largely made of glass, offering guests a panoramic view of the surrounding nature. Unfortunately, she couldn't attend the opening as she was training in China.

Her journey from a young swimmer in Romania to an international competitor is inspiring. With strong family support and a clear vision for the future, she continues to make waves both in and out of the pool.
