Commentary

  • 19.1

FOUR! Umesh Yadav to Shubman Gill. Short, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, well timed in the air under control past deep point for 4 runs.

Spanked to the rope and the young man wins it for KKR. Chris Lynn stands at the other end on 62 not out and has seen his team through for the win. A couple of handy contributions from the top by Sunil Narine and Robin Uthappa and that set up the victory with RCB not being able to defend a total again. Sooner or later they will have to start stringing wins together if they want to make the playoffs, KKR though are set up nicely with eight points and are firmly in the hunt.

OUT! Caught. Mohammed Siraj to Dinesh Karthik. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air under control to long on, by Kohli. What a grab but Kohli shows no emotion. Full length dive and he grabs the ball just off the ground. KKR only need five from seven though.

Not the greatest delivery and that has taken all the pressure off KKR. Karthik swivels and helps the ball around the corner to the boundary rope.

  • 17.3

APPEAL! Tim Southee to Dinesh Karthik. Length ball, outside off stump down the track working, to mid wicket for 2 runs, direct hit by Kohli, appeal made for Run Out. Superb throw from the deep but Karthik is in safely.

  • 16.6

Andre Russell c Quinton de Kock b Mohammed Siraj 0 (1)

OUT! Caught. Mohammed Siraj to Andre Russell. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled to fine leg, by de Kock. Russell is in and out in a flash. First ball he goes after but the pace is too much to handle. It's a high ball and de Kock does extremely well to track back and take the catch over his shoulder. RCB feel they are back in this.

  • 16.2

FOUR! Mohammed Siraj to Nitish Rana. Yorker, wide outside off stump moves in front Steer, well timed past deep backward point for 4 runs, mis-fielded by Chahal. Plenty of pace to work with and Rana opens the face to find the gap. Chahal could have done better as the ball bounced through him.
Strange, Rana holds his bat as he walks to the crease and he looks in pain. So much so that he is going off, Russell is the man to replace him.
