CSK vs LSG IPL 2023 Match 6: Who said What

KL Rahul (LSG Captain)

(on the Result) 'Obviously, not the most ideal start after winning the toss and putting them into bat. The bowlers said it was sticky and moving a bit so there was something in it for them but they didn't put it in the right areas. When you have quality batters in the opposition, they will make you pay.'

(on Kyle Mayers) 'Kyle Mayers has come in with some real good form. I was watching some games that West Indies played and he was smoking the ball. It's good to see him come here with the same approach. In Lucknow, he hit the ball a mile and he did the same today. It's good to see what he's done with the opportunity.'

(on the performance) 'I think we were in the game in the second half quite a lot and got off to a really good start but lost a few wickets and kept pressing on. It's not often that you'll get 4 or 5 batsmen caught on the boundary. If a few of them had gone over, we would have been on the winning side. Sometimes in T20, those margins don't go your way.'

MS Dhoni (CSK Captain)

(on the result) 'It was a terrific game. We were thinking how the wicket will be, it was a high-scoring game. Overall, I feel it is the perfect first game. It is the first full house in five six years.'

(on the pitch) 'I was surprised as I thought it will be a bit slower. But it will be important to see how the pitch plays in the next six games.'

(on weakness) 'Fast bowling we need to slightly improve. Need to bowl according to the conditions. What is important is to keep an eye as to what the opposition bowlers are doing. One more thing if they'll have to bowl no no-balls or extra wides. Or they'll have to play under a new captain. It will be my second warning and then I'll be off. Only reason we've scored those runs is if the surface is nice.'

Moeen Ali (Player of the Match)

(on the nature of the game and Santner) 'It's not easy. It was a tough one as they have big hitters. The important thing was to try and spin the ball. I think the combination between me and Santner was brilliant and the partnership worked. We picked up wickets and our plan worked.

(on his bowling frequency) I do believe off-spinners can bowl to right-handers especially bowling to the big leg-side. I'm not going to bowl all the time with Jadeja there.'
