Cape Town, Feb 25: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup final between Australia and South Africa on Sunday (February 26).

Australia defeated India in the first semi-final by 5 runs to enter their straight seventh T20 World Cup Final while South Africa defeated England by 6 runs in the second knock-out game. The Proteas qualified for their first-ever World Cup final.

The global body has announced the umpires for the marquee clash. Kim Cotton will oversee her second consecutive ICC Women's T20 WC final in Cape Town. New Zealander is being named as one of two on-field umpires for the showpiece.

Cotton will be joined by Jacqueline Williams, with both fresh from standing in this week's thrilling semi-finals. Cotton umpired in the Australia-India semi-final. Williams took charge of the match between Proteas and England.

The pair will be supported by TV Umpire Suzanne Redfern, who carried out the same role in the first semi-final, and fourth umpire Nimali Perera.

GS Lakshmi is in place as the match referee for the final, which will be held at Newlands.

Australia vs South Africa Final

With another tense encounter expected in Cape Town against the host nation, Lanning hopes that holding their nerve in the tense last-four clash will serve as the perfect preparation.

"Having been put in pressure situations before helps us, you learn a lot in those times and we learnt a lot from the semi-final where we were under the pump a fair bit," she said.

"It reiterated to us that you have to stay in the game and you have to be ready to take your chances when you get them.

"We were able to do that the other day, we need to make sure we are ready to do that again but there's going to be moments when South Africa will be on top.

"They will have the momentum, the crowd will be on their side and we accept that.

"But when we get the chance to really put our footprint on the game and play the way that we want, we have to make sure that we do that because that's how we're going to win the game."
