Lucknow, October 6: South Africa took an early 1-0 lead in the three-match series with a 9-run win over India here at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium on Thursday (October 6).
David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen hammered fifties as South Africa ran up a strong total in match that was reduced to 40-over-a-side because of rain delay.
India tried to hard to match the score but in the end the task became heavier because of regular fall of wickets.
Nothing indicated that heaviness than the 23 runs required off the last over bowled by Tabraiz Shamsi, and Sanju Samson could only reduce the margin.
Now, India will have to win the second ODI to square the series.
