Commentary

A clinical effort from Team India helped them complete a rare double clean sweep as they defeated West Indies by 17 runs in the third and inconsequential T20I at Eden Gardens.

With this win, the Rohit Sharma-led side climbed at the top of ICC T20I Rankings for teams.

It was Team India's ninth consecutive T20I win.

Rohit Sharma continues his unbeaten run as India captain in the shortest format with nine back-to-back wins.

Chasing a target of 185, Kieron Pollard and his band could only muster 167/9 in the stipulated 20 overs.

Despite losing in-form pacer Deepak Chahar due to injury in the powerplay and dew making it tough for the bowlers in the second innings, Indian bowlers did exceedingly well as they kept picking up wickets at regular intervals.

Earlier in the day, Suryakumar Yadav unleashed his beast mode yet again as he went on slamming his career's highest T20I total and guided Team India to 184/5 in the 20 overs.

Suryakumar - who slammed his fourth T20I fifty - scored 65 off 31 balls showcased his 360-degree skills in the slog overs.

Along with Venkatesh Iyer, SKY forged a brilliant 91 run partnership for the 5th wicket. The duo changed the course of the match for India and carried the momentum at the end of the innings for their team.

SKY, Venky, Harshal and Ravi Bishnoi were the biggest positives for India from this series. Harshal was the pick of the bowlers for India with three wickets. Chahar, Shardul and Venky returned with two wickets each.
