  • India and the Netherlands will face off in a women’s T20I fixture for the first time; their only three previous women’s international clashes have been ODIs, the most recent of which was in December 2000, with India batting first and winning on all three occasions.
  • India have won their last nine consecutive women’s T20Is when facing an opponent for the first time; the last team they failed to win against in their inaugural encounter was New Zealand in June 2009.
  • India will be looking to secure consecutive women’s T20I wins in England for the first time since July 2025 after defeating Pakistan by 64-runs at Edgbaston in their opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026; though, England (45%) is the only country outside India (44%) in which they have a win rate below 50% (min. 5 matches).
  • This will be just the third women’s T20I match to take place at Headingley Stadium in Leeds, England beat Pakistan there by 34 runs in May 2024 and Australia will face Bangladesh immediately before this game in the first of a double header.
  • The Netherlands have lost five of their last six women’s T20Is including their last three in a row; the last time they lost more successive matches in the format was an eight-game stretch from August to September in 2019.
  • The Netherlands have lost 27 of their 29 women’s T20Is against full member opponents including their last two in a row; however, both of their two wins in such fixtures have come in Europe, an eight-run victory against Bangladesh in Edinburgh in May 2026 and a seven-wicket win against Ireland in Dublin in July 2021.
  • India have scored 180+ runs in four of their last five women’s T20Is when batting first on the day after doing so only once across their previous six such matches, while the Netherlands have never successfully chased a target higher than 146 in format history.
  • The Netherlands’ leading run scorer in women’s T20Is, Sterre Kalis (1,953), is 47 away from scoring 2,000 runs in the format, she has passed 50 on 12 previous occasions, the last time coming against Scotland (87*) in January of this year.
  • Arundhati Reddy (48) is two away from picking up 50 wickets in women’s T20Is, she would be the ninth player to reach this milestone for India, she has however failed to pick up a single wicket in six of her last seven bowling innings in the format.
  • Deepti Sharma managed bowling figures of 5/10 in India’s opening match of this tournament against Pakistan, the third best by any player at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup behind Deandra Dottin (5/5 vs Bangladesh in November 2018) and Sune Luus (5/8 vs Ireland in March 2016).
