IPL 2016: Rohit Sharma completes 6000 runs in T20, becomes 2nd Indian player

With his knock of unbeaten 85 runs against Rising Pune Supergiants, Rohit Sharma achieved yet another milestone in T20 format.

The Mumbai opener has completed 6,000 T20 runs and became only second Indian after Suresh Raina to have achieved this feat.

Skipper Rohit Sharma continued to lead from the front as a thoroughly professional Mumbai Indians outclassed Pune Supergiants by 8 wickets on Sunday night. Rohit smashed an unbeaten 85 off just 60 balls to guide his side win the Maharashtra derby.

Rohit's impressive knock included eight boundaries and three sixes, as Mumbai chased down the total posting 161/2 with nine balls to spare and place themselves at the second spot in the table.

He is the seventh batsman in the world to touch this milestone. He is also the only player after compatriot Suresh Raina to have slammed centuries in Tests, One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals (T20Is). Overall, this destructive Team India has scored 3 tons and 42 fifties in the T20 format.

Rohit has played 229 T20 matches so far and amassed 6031 runs at an average of 33.50 and has a strike rate of 131.36.

In the ongoing tournament, Rohit has been the leading run-scorer for the Mumbai Indians.
