The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has seen a huge rise in the average powerplay scores of the all the teams so far this season with Chennai Super Kings dominating the chart and Rajasthan Royals leading the way with the highest score in first six overs.
In the ongoing season, RR registered their highest powerplay score in IPL history in their campaign opener, as did Lucknow Super Giants, who are playing their second season in the cash-rich league.
In 146 innings so far, we have seen a total of over 7000 runs being scored inside the powerplay, including over 890 fours and over 230 sixes inside the first six overs of the matches in season 16 of IPL.

The CSK vs LSG match earlier in the season saw both the teams cross the 70 run-mark inside powerplay when they clashed at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in a high-scoring contest.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians also scored over 70 runs in one of their innings in the current season of the IPL. RCB registered their highest powerplay score against CSK, while MI scored versus Kolkata Knight Riders.
While Rajasthan Royals registered the highest powerplay score so far this season, the inaugural champions have also registered the lowest total inside the first six overs with a score of 26.
