IPL 2024: Shah Rukh Khan's Embrace To Rishabh Pant, Candid Moments With DC-KKR Players Steals The Show In Vizag

IPL 2024 DC vs KKR: King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and Prince of Indian Cricket Rishabh Pant captivated the audience with their special encounter in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday (April 3).

Renowned for his endearing moments on screen, Shah Rukh Khan once again endeared himself to the public with his Bollywood-esque gesture towards Pant after the match between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024.

Following KKR's resounding victory, the 58-year-old actor, who is the co-owner of the franchise, graced the field at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vizag to extend his greetings to the players. The highlight of the post-match formalities was SRK's interaction with the wicketkeeper-batter and his display of affection to other cricketers.

Shah Rukh's engaging exchange with Rishabh Pant left a lasting impression. The Indian cricket star rose to greet the Bollywood icon, who insisted he remain seated. Despite the insistence, Pant stood up, and they shared a warm embrace, exchanging words in the process. This moment quickly spread across social media platforms as fans commended the actor for his demeanour.

The camera also captured SRK sharing laughter and hugs with other Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders players. He was spotted playing with Kuldeep Yadav's curly hair and gave him a warm embrace. He placed his hands on the cheek of Ishant Sharma and KKR's debutant Angkrish Raghuvanshi - who slammed a fifty on his IPL debut.

At the end of the video, SRH also hugged KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir before leaving the venue and thanking the passionate audience at Vizag. Earlier in the day, SRK gave a standing ovation to Pant for his no-look shot which went for a six as he milked 28 runs from that over bowled by Venkatesh Iyer.

In a one-sided contest, chasing 273, DC faltered, succumbing to a defeat as they were bowled out for 166 in 17.2 overs. Despite the loss, Pant showcased his prowess with the bat, scoring a brisk half-century, amassing 55 runs off 32 deliveries, including four boundaries and five sixes. Additionally, Tristan Stubbs contributed with a fifty for Delhi. KKR's bowling duo, Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakaravarthy, claimed three wickets each.

Batting first, KKR posted a daunting total of 272/7 in 20 overs, marking the second-highest IPL total in history. Opener Sunil Narine's blistering knock of 85 off 39 balls laid a solid foundation for KKR. Angkrish Raghuvanshi also contributed with a brisk 54 off 27 deliveries.

Reflecting on the match, Pant acknowledged the team's shortcomings and emphasised the importance of learning from the experience to bounce back stronger in the next game.

Rishabh Pant's valiant effort against KKR may have ended in defeat, but his aggressive batting, particularly against Venkatesh Iyer, caught everyone's attention. Despite the top-order collapse, Pant and Stubbs tried to revive the innings with a 93-run partnership. However, it wasn't enough as DC suffered a significant 106-run loss, while KKR maintained their unbeaten streak in the tournament.
