Chennai, May 26: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) experienced a batting collapse in the high-stakes IPL 2024 final against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The SRH innings began on a sour note with the early dismissals of in-form openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head during the powerplay. The team struggled to recover, with Pat Cummins (24) and Aiden Markram (20) emerging as the top scorers.
KKR's bowlers dominated the final, with left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc (2/14) and all-rounder Andre Russell (3/19) delivering standout performances to restrict SRH to a low total. This is Sunrisers Hyderabad's joint-second lowest total in IPL history.
