Lucknow Super Giants coach Justin Langer revealed how Manimaran Siddharth assured him of dismissing Virat Kohli when the pair first interacted with each other.
Lucknow Super Giants continued their winning run with a superb victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024 on Tuesday (April 2) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

It was an excellent bowling performance from LSG, who restricted RCB's star-studded batting lineup. The young bowling unit of Lucknow played out of their skins and showcased their mettle at the cauldron such as Chinnaswamy.
Pace sensation Mayank Yadav picked up three wickets and rattled RCB, but it all started with the wicket of Virat Kohli. Chasing 182, RCB made a fantastic start with Kohli and Du Plessis going all guns blazing, but in the 5th over, Manimaran Siddharth drew first blood by dismissing the RCB stalwart.
An arm ball took it away from Kohli and it took the outer edge. Devdutt Padikkal completed a good catch at backward point as Siddharth took his maiden IPL wicket. The 25-year-old was ecstatic in joy and ended up with a good spell of 1 for 21 in three overs.
But after the match, a dressing room video uploaded by LSG showed their coach Justin Langer praising the youngster. Langer revealed the first time he met Siddharth and saw him bowl an arm ball, he asked Siddharth if he can get Virat Kohli out, and the player replied affirmatively.
"The first thing that comes out of my mouth, to M Siddharth, never spoken to him before and I saw him bowl and arm ball. I said,'Hey Sid, you reckon you can get Virat out for us?' He goes,'Yes Sir'. And what you know he gets him out," Langer was seen saying after their fantastic victory over RCB.
Manimaran Siddharth has been in the IPL fold for a long time. The left-arm spinner was with Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals in the past but never got game time with them.
For LSG, the 28-run victory over RCB takes them to 4th position in the league table. The Lucknow outfit faces Gujarat Titans next on April 7.
