Mayank Yadav has created a buzz with his superb pace bowling for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL 2024 season.
Yadav made his debut against Punjab Kings and picked up three wickets. He also picked up three against RCB in the next match. The young pace bowler has also awed the world with his electric speed, by bowling the 4th Fastest Delivery in IPL History.

His consistent pace and accuracy make him a great prospect for the Indian team in future. Although the Delhi-born is enjoying his purple patch with LSG, he was not expecting them to bid for him in the auction.
LSG bought Mayank in IPL 2022 and the player subsequently suffered an injury ahead of the start of IPL last year. In the IPL 2024 auction, Yadav was not expecting LSG to bid for him as he was hopeful that two other franchises may bid.
But when Yadav's name came, none of the two teams raised their peddle, which was surprising to him as the player revealed in a podcast recently.
"When my name arrived, I was just watching two teams - Chennai and Delhi (CSK and DC). But nobody picked me. I was shocked as I got unsold. I was a bit disappointed as the teams I was thinking would go for me didn't even bat an eye," Mayank said.
The pacer came back again in the accelerated round and LSG picked him. Yadav says he was happy as he got picked and laid down on the bed and thanked the almighty for the opportunity.
Since his IPL debut, the sensational bowler has troubled all the batters. His pace coupled with accuracy has caused mayhem in the opposition batting. Yadav won the Player of the Match award against RCB and was the first player to get consecutive awards in his first two IPL matches.
The youngster has made a gigantic leap in IPL but remains focused as his ultimate dream is yet to be fulfilled.
