MI vs RCB IPL 2023: LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq feasts on mangoes as Mumbai Indians pummel Virat Kohli's team

Lucknow Super Giants pacer Naveen-ul-Haq thoroughly enjoyed the IPL 2023 match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday (May 9) at the Wankhede Stadium.

The Afghanistan pacer shared a couple of images on his Instagram handle during the course of the match between two IPL heavyweights and certainly let known which team he was supporting. 'Surya Rises, RCB Sets' - Twitter reacts as Suryakumar Yadav magic help MI beat RCB

The tall right-arm pacer enjoyed the game of cricket between the two teams relishing Indian mangoes, which are the flavour of the season apart from IPL in the Indian summers. MI vs RCB, IPL 2023: IPL makes glaring mistake as Glenn Maxwell denied deserved Award

The timing of Naveen ul-Haq's stories on Instagram were enough to trigger a debate on social media if they were aimed at taking a dig at RCB batter Virat Kohli - who was dismissed cheaply in the match.

Did Naveen take a dig at Virat Kohli & RCB?

Soon after Kohli was removed by left-handed MI pacer Jason Behrendorff in the first over of the match of 1, the Afghan quick shared an Instagram story with Piyush Chawla on the television screen and a couple of mangoes on his plate. Naveen captioned it, "Sweet Mango's".

Later in the evening, riding upon blistering half-centuries from Suryakumar Yadav and young Nehal Wadhera, Mumbai Indians chased down the target of 200 without breaking much sweat and won the game by 6 wickets.

Soon after MI's win, the LSG pacer posted another Instagram story with more mangoes and MI players in the background. "Round 2 with these mangoes. One of the best mangoes I've ever had thanks," he wrote.

Fans claimed that the second Instagram story was again aimed at former India and RCB captain Virat Kohli as his team failed to put up a fight in a high-profile contest.

Even LSG Mentor Gautam Gambhir went on to post an image of Jason Behrendorff on his Instagram Story praising the left-arm Australia bowler - who picked up the wicket of Kohli. Gambhir wrote, "What a player Jason Behrendorff."

Fans too didn't stop from roasting Gambhir and Naveen for their apparent dig at Kohli and went on to claim that both will be very happy after Kohli got dismissed early in the innings.

Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli had a heated argument during the match between RCB and LSG last week on the pitch and the verbal spat kept getting worst as it continued after the match got over.

Kohli and Naveen had some spat during the handshakes only to be separated by players and later LSG mentor and former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir also joined the scuffle. Kohli and Gambhir had some ugly exchange of words which left a sour taste.

The match referee found Kohli, Gambhir and Naveen guilty of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct and penalised all three of them. While Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100 per cent of their match fees, Naveen was docked 50 per cent of his fee.

After the match, Naveen took to his social media handle and took an apparent dig at Kohli which didn't go down well with the legendary India cricketer's fans. RCB and Kohli fans started posting abuses on the Afghan cricketer's Instagram post which forced the cricketer to turn off comments.

LSG - who are now being captained by Krunal Pandya after regular skipper KL Rahul was ruled out of the competition - will be taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next IPL 2023 encounter on Saturday (May 13).

The Super Giants - who were completely outclassed by Gujarat Titans in their previous game in Ahmedabad - got a break of almost a week and the players will be aiming to start fresh.
