MI vs RCB: In a hilarious moment during the Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru match at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (April 11), Rohit Sharma asked Dinesh Karthik if he wants to play in the T20 World Cup 2024.

The comment from Rohit Sharma was caught on stump mic as Dinesh Karthik hammered Mumbai Indians bowlers for a 22-ball fifty. He finished on unbeaten 53 runs off 23 balls to help RCB set a 197-run target for Mumbai. The innings consisted of five boundaries and four sixes.

"World Cup Khelna hai World Cup (You have to play the World Cup)," Rohit Sharma was heard saying on the stump mic. Here is the video which has now gone viral.

In the 16th over from Aakash Madhwal, the 38-year-old smashed four boundaries behind the wicket-keeper. The right-hander hammered a six each off Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah in the 18th and 19th over respectively. In the final over, Karthik blasted Madhwal for two sixes and a four.

Dinesh Kartik has been in sublime form in the IPL 2024. He has scored 143 runs in six matches at an average of 71.50 and a strike rate of 190.66. He has remained uneaten in three out of his five innings in the season so far.

The form of the veteran cricketer is even more impressive is not a very active cricketer anymore, and is mostly busy with his commentary stints in non-IPL seasons.

Later, Mumbai Indians chased down the target with seven wickets in 27 balls remaining. Ishan Kishan blasted a 23-ball fifty, while Suryakumar Yadav scored 52 off 19 (17-ball fifty). Rohit Sharma scored 38 off 24 balls.
