The eighth season of PSL is currently being played across four venues (Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi) with the final slated on March 19 at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. In total, 34 matches will be played in a double round-robin format before the playoffs, followed by the final to decide the champion.

The six franchises competing in season 8 are Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. Qalandars are the defending champions.

Abbas Afridi beat teammate Ihsanullah to Maroon Cap by a wicket

Multan Sultans' Abbas Afridi failed to take any wickets in the PSL final but still won the Maroon Cap as he finished with a tally of 23 wickets. His teammate Ihsanullah, who started the final two wickets behind Abbas, could only take a wicket and finished runner's up.

Abbas Afridi earlier took the lead in the most wickets race for the first time since the beginning of PSL 2023 as the pacer took 5/47, including a hat-trick, against Peshawar Zalmi in their last league stage match in Rawalpindi.

Lahore Qalandars' Rashid Khan took two crucial wickets in the PSL final of Mohammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw to end the PSL season with 20 wickets despite joining late.

His captain Shaheen Afridi took three wickets at the death to end as a winning captain, who had a rich wicket haul of 19. He was also adjudged player of the match for an all-round show as he scored 44 not out in 15 balls as well.

Sultans' Usama Mir was the best bowler from his team on the day with three wickets, taking his season tally to 17 and finishing joint fifth-highest wicket-taker with Usama Mir.
