  • 123.6

OUT! Bowled. Neil Wagner to Stuart Broad. Out-swinging length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge to. Broad gone! England are all out for 353, after the start England made they will be very disappointed with the way that innings went, a burst of quick wickets really halted the runs and New Zealand after a stubborn partnership finally got Buttler which signalled the end of the England innings. New Zealand have a job to do now, the pitch looks in decent condition but the ball has been moving all day so expect a few edges early on in the New Zealand innings. Let's see what Broad and Archer can do at the Bay Oval.

  • 121.4

FOUR! Neil Wagner to Jack Leach. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, outside edge past third man for 4 runs. Leach with an outside edge through the slip cordon for four, runs are needed for England to get this total to a competitive score, I think Broad will come out swinging now.

  • 121.2

Neil Wagner to Stuart Broad. Length ball, outside off stump on the back foot working, to short mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Raval.

  • 121.1

OUT! Caught. Neil Wagner to Jos Buttler. Back of a length, middle stump on the back foot cutting, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep point, by Santner. Buttler gone! The past couple of balls he has looked to be aggressive, this time he holes out to Santner at deep backward point. Another start from an England batter, this one was in different circumstances, but he will still be annoyed that he didn't get the half century.

  • 121.1

Wide Neil Wagner to Jos Buttler. Half volley, wide outside off stump moves in front Leave, Left to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Watling.

  • 120.2

Tim Southee to Jos Buttler. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to cover for 2 runs, dropped catch by Raval, fielded by Raval. Big moment in the Afternoon session, Raval drops Buttler, after turning down multiple singles Buttler goes big, he mis-times the drive which gives Raval the chance to take the catch, he desperately dives to the ball but drops the take and Buttler survives.

  • 200.6

FOUR! Jack Leach to Neil Wagner. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot reverse sweeping, well timed past third man for 4 runs. Innovation from Wagner! He brings out the reverse, and connects superbly. Paddled away for four runs.

Williamson calls in the last pair, and New Zealand have declared. Not sure why they needed the three overs after tea, but they have boosted their lead up to 262. A very tricky task for the England batsmen now. The pitch is still good for batting, but this will purely be a mental challenge to be able to escape with a draw. The Kiwi bowlers have been resting for two days, and will come charging out after a short break.

  • 200.5

SIX! Jack Leach to Neil Wagner. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Right into the arc for a left hander. Spinning in, and Wagner goes with that turn. He is down on one knee, and heaves it over mid wicket for six.

  • 199.6

OUT! Caught. Jofra Archer to BJ Watling. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Buttler. He's gone! 11 hours at the crease and he finally nicks one off. Another change of pace from Archer, Watling throws everything into the drive, and feathers it through to Buttler. Lots of handshakes and a standing ovation for him as he leaves the field.

A soft way to go for Southee. A lazy drive is spooned back, and Leach pouches it easily. Still no declaration.

  • 197.6

Sam Curran to BJ Watling. Off cutter short, down leg side ducked Leave, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Buttler.

That will be tea. New Zealand may have meandered in the morning, but they have motored along this afternoon. Santner injected some pace and got to his first Test century, before he was eventually caught in the deep off Sam Curran. BJ Watling just seems immovable, and he was able to get to his maiden double hundred before the break. Will New Zealand carry on batting in the evening to pile more misery on England? They have a big enough lead to exert quite a bit of pressure on the visitors. A vital last couple of hours coming up.

  • 197.5

Joe Root to Tim Southee. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot working, to short mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Denly.

  • 196.4

APPEAL! Joe Root to Tim Southee. Off break length ball, middle stump on the front foot glancing, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to wicketkeeper for no runs, by Buttler, appeal made for Caught. Root is convinced that Southee has got a tickle on this down the legside. Nothing from the umpire, and nothing on the replays either.

  • 196.3

Joe Root to Tim Southee. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, back to bowler for no runs, fielded by Root.

  • 196.2

Joe Root to BJ Watling. Off break length ball, middle stump on the front foot working, to backward square leg for 1 run, fielded by Stokes. A masterclass from BJ Watling. What a double century that is. Came in when his side was in a little trouble, but has now taken them into a formidable position.

  • 96.2
Stuart Broad lbw b Neil Wagner 0 (1)

OUT! L.B.W. Neil Wagner to Stuart Broad. Full toss, to leg no foot movement defending, hit pad to. The double bluff works! Broad is pinned in front first ball. A field is set that is so clear that the short ball should have been coming, but Wagner fires it in full and straight. Broad is timid and deep in the crease, and misses a full toss. Simple decision for the umpire, it was plumb. A review taken, but just in hope.

A terrific performance from the home side. Utterly dominant from day three onwards, and they have battered England here. The highlights across the Test were BJ Watling's double century, and Mitchell Santner's maiden hundred. Neil Wagner starred with the ball today to pick up a five wicket haul, too. Not many positives for the visitors, who are still struggling in this format of the game. They need to improve if they want to compete at this level.

The Kiwis go 1-0 up in the two match series. The next one begins on Friday, and that will be played at Seddon Park.

  • 96.1
    Jofra Archer c (Sub) b Neil Wagner 30 (50)

OUT! Caught (Sub). Neil Wagner to Jofra Archer. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, in the air uncontrolled to fine leg. No surprise to who gets the breakthrough. Neil Wagner is so reliable for New Zealand in the second innings of a Test. Banged into the pitch, Jorfa is a happy puller, but gets right underneath this. Lifted away straight down the throat of long leg. Regulation catch for the sub fielder. Only one more needed for the Kiwis.

Do England have a slither of hope with these two at the crease? They can certainly both bat, but there's a lot of overs still to be bowled.
