Liam Scott is a right-arm fast-medium bowling all-rounder who has become a cornerstone of South Australia’s domestic revival. After making his Sheffield Shield debut for the Redbacks in November 2019, Scott was selected in Australia’s 2020 Under-19 World Cup squad. He broadened his profile over subsequent seasons, making his Big Bash League debut for the Adelaide Strikers in late 2020 and his List A debut for South Australia in early 2022.

Scott’s major career breakthrough came in 2024–25 when he was named the One-Day Cup Player of the Tournament, playing a key role as South Australia secured an unprecedented domestic double (Shield and One-Day Cup). He reached even greater heights in 2025–26, registering a then career-best 5/33 against Queensland alongside his maiden first-class century (147 against Tasmania). His 28 wickets and 547 runs helped South Australia retain the Sheffield Shield and earned Scott the 2025–26 Sheffield Shield Player of the Year award. Additionally, an elevation up the order in BBL|15 saw him contribute 310 runs for the Strikers, earning a spot in the BBL Team of the Tournament.

His rapid multi-format ascent earned him an Australia call-up in mid-2026, culminating in his international debut during the ODI tour against Bangladesh in June, where he took 2/57. Following his international debut, Scott joined Gloucestershire for the 2026 English summer to play in the T20 Blast and County Championship, establishing himself as one of Australia’s top emerging pace-all-round options. He was included in the red-ball tour of India A in September 2026.
