India pacer Mohammed Shami is one of the most skillful bowlers in the world cricket and his ability to bowl at genuine pace and swing the ball both ways makes him a threat. Born on September 3 in 1990 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, carries the reputation of being ""unplayable"" on his day. The exceedingly-talented right-arm pacer has achieved several significant feats and has been among the mainstays of Indian bowling unit. Shami earned his maiden India call-up after an impressive season in the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy with Bengal. He made his international debut in January 2013 against Pakistan in an ODI game and bowled a record-setting four maiden overs. In the same year, during his Test debut against West Indies, Shami took nine wickets, with a five-wicket haul in the second innings. Significantly, in 2019, he became the fastest Indian bowler to take 100 ODI wickets, besides the second Indian to take a hat-trick in a World Cup match. He also joined Chetan Sharma, Kapil Dev, and Kuldeep Yadav in the India's ODI hat-trick club. In 2021, Shami, the only Muslim player on the national squad at the time, became a victim of a public fallout following India's loss to Pakistan during the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup because of his religion. However, his peers publicly supported him following the abuse. Shami married Hasin Jahan (a model and cheerleader) in 2014, and the couple had a daughter. However, in 2018, Jahan accused Shami of domestic violence and dowry harassment. Following a domestic abuse case, a Kolkata judge directed the pacer to give estranged wife Hasin Jahan Rs 1.30 lakh monthly alimony.
