Commentary
Hardik Pandya led from the front as Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs and climbed to the top of the points table.
The Gujarat Titans' captain could do nothing wrong for his side tonight as he scored runs, effected a run out, picked up wickets and marshalled his troops to perfection to help his team register an emphatic win.
Hardik top-scored with 87* off 52 balls in the game and forged good partnerships with Abhinav Manohar and David Miller to help his side post an imposing 192/4 after being put in to bat first.
For Rajasthan Royals, it was Jos Buttler's fiery knock and electric start he gave to the side in the run chase.
The England cricketer scored a quickfire 24-ball 54 and was the only highlight for his team with the bat. But no other batter could pose any challenge in front of a clinical bowling effort from Gujarat.
In the end, RR could only muster 155 for 9 as the batters just couldn't find any partnership going.
Despite being taken to the cleaners early in the innings by Buttler, GT debutant Yash Dayal had a memorable outing as he picked up three wickets.
It was a forgettable game for RR bowlers as most of them looked ineffective in the middle-overs.
Even Rajasthan's spin duo of R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal bowled economically together they accounted for just one wicket.
APPEAL! Yash Dayal to Kuldeep Sen. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, missed for no runs, fielded by Wade, appeal made for Caught. Rajasthan Royals have been restricted to 155. Buttler gave a rapid start, but other batters couldn't capitalize on that start. Ferguson and Yash Dayal both picked up three wickets. Hardik Pandya has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his all-round performance. Cheers.

Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals will come face to face in a potentially explosive IPL 2022 match on Thursday (April 14).
These teams will have clear intentions coming into the match too.
The Titans tasted first defeat of the IPL 2022 at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad and they are stuck at six points.
In theory, Royal Challengers Bangalore (6 points) can go ahead of them and Punjab Kings (4 points) can catch up with GT if those two teams win their next matches.
The GT under Hardik Pandya would like avoid that situation and a win over RR can give them that cushion back.
Possible Playing 11:
Gujarat Titans: 1 Matthew Wade / Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), 2 Shubman Gill, 3 Sai Sudarshan / Vijay Shankar, 4 Hardik Pandya (Captain), 5 David Miller, 6 Rahul Tewatia, 7 Abhinav Manohar 8 Rashid Khan, 9 Darshan Nalkande, 10 Mohammed Shami, 11 Lockie Ferguson / Alzarri Joseph.
Rajasthan Royals: 1 Jos Buttler, 2 Devdutt Padikkal, 3 Sanju Samson, 4 Rassie van der Dussen, 5 Shimron Hetmyer, 6 Riyan Parag / Karun Nair, 7 R Ashwin, 8 Trent Boult, 9 Yuzvendra Chahal, 10 Kuldeep Sen, 11 Prasidh Krishna.
