WCPL 2023: The squads for the highly-anticipated Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) have been announced on Friday (June 3) as three teams picked 45 woman cricketers for the second season of the domestic T20 league.

Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders have picked up 15 players each for the upcoming season. The teams have announced the full list of domestic and overseas players who will be participating in the premier competition.

WCPL will kick off with the opening game in Barbados on August 31 while the final will be held on September 10 in Trinidad. WCPL 2023 will see an expanded schedule of seven matches with each of the three teams playing four group games with the top two qualifying for the final. The star-studded squads feature the best players from across the Caribbean, including Deandra Dottin, Hayley Matthews and Stafanie Taylor. The local players will be rubbing shoulders with some of the best T20 overseas players from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland and India.

New Zealanders Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates and Fran Jonas will be playing at the 2023 Massy WCPL. They will be joined by Australians Laura Harris and Amanda-Jade Wellington. South Africans Dane van Niekerk, Mignon de Preez and Shabnim Ismail will also be at the 2023 event.

India's Shreyanka Patil became the first Indian cricketer to play at the WCPL with Ireland players Orla Prendergast and Gaby Lewis rounding out the overseas players' list.
