The auction date for the Women's Premier League has been announced by the BCCI. The highly-anticipated WPL 2024 Auction is scheduled to be held in Mumbai on December 9.

On Friday (November 24), the BCCI disclosed the roster of players released and retained by the five WPL franchises. The second season of WPL is slated for February-March next year, with the Mumbai Indians initiating their defense of the title in the premier domestic T20 tournament.

In a Friday announcement, the five WPL franchises-Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz-unveiled the list of players released and retained in anticipation of the WPL Auction.

WPL 2024 Auction Date Announced

Mumbai Indians - who are the defending champions - have not released too many players ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction on December 9. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side has decided to persist with the players who were part of their WPL 2023-winning campaign.

Gujarat Giants - who had a horrid run in the inaugural edition of the competition - retained just 8 players from the first edition. Here is a look at the retained players list of every team ahead of the WPL 2024 auction:
