Molmenti's international debut came in 2003 at the World Cup in Spain, representing Italy. His right-footed paddling skills have been honed under the guidance of his coach Pierpaolo Ferrazzi since 2007.

One of his most memorable achievements was winning a gold medal on his birthday at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. This victory was a highlight of his career and earned him the honour of being Italy's flag bearer during the closing ceremony.

Challenges and Injuries

Molmenti faced significant challenges, including a motorbike accident in 2007 where he broke a vertebra. Despite this, he returned to paddling within three months. He also dislocated his right shoulder in 2004 but continued to pursue his passion for the sport.

In early 2016, Molmenti had a close encounter with a venomous brown snake while competing in Sydney, Australia. He managed to avoid harm by quickly moving away from the area.
