Faith Kipyegon Biography

Kipyegon trains six days a week in Kaptagat, Kenya, under the guidance of coach Patrick Sang. She switched to Sang in 2019 after moving to Eldoret to be closer to her husband, Timothy Kitum. Previously coached by Bram Som, she found the transition smooth as both coaches maintain similar training regimes.

Challenges and Injuries

Throughout her career, Kipyegon has faced several injuries. In 2019, she missed a Diamond League meeting in London due to an adductor injury and also suffered a hamstring injury. Despite these setbacks, she recovered and won silver in the 1500m event at the World Championships in Doha. In 2015, a metatarsal injury kept her out of the World Cross-Country Championships in China.
