Edmund Lalrindika returns to East Bengal, says 'I've unfinished Business' after signing till 2028

East Bengal have announced the signing of Edmund Lalrindika from Inter Kashi, as the Indian forward returns on a three-year deal.

The club confirmed Lalrindika's signing on Sunday (July 13), who becomes their third acquisition of the season following Martand Raina and Ramsanga Tlaichhun, who joined from Rajasthan United and Real Kashmir respectively.

Lalrindika has joined the Kolkata club on a three-year deal, same as the other players. East Bengal have also extended contracts for both Souvik Chakrabarti and Vishnu PV.

Who is Edmund Lalrindika?

Born on April 24, 1999, in Mizoram, Edmund Lalrindika is a dynamic forward capable of operating as a centre-forward, winger or attacking midfielder. A graduate of the AIFF Elite Academy, Edmund was nurtured in the Bengaluru FC system before gaining experience on loan with Indian Arrows and later with East Bengal during the 2019-20 I-League season.

It was during his debut for the club, in a fiercely contested Kolkata derby, that he registered an assist before an unfortunate injury cut short his campaign.

Following his time at Bengaluru FC, Edmund joined Inter Kashi in 2023 and swiftly became one of the I-League's standout performers. Across the last two seasons, he made 43 appearances, contributing 9 goals and 13 assists, underlining his ability to influence matches consistently. His performances in the 2024-25 season, in particular, earned him a well-deserved call-up to the Indian senior national team, making his debut in a World Cup Qualifier against Kuwait at the Salt Lake Stadium on June 6, 2024.

I want to give my all, score goals, win derbies and tournaments for this great club. The East Bengal fans showed me a lot of love five years ago. Now I want to show them what I am truly capable of. Joy East Bengal," Lalrindika said upon joining the club.

Now donning the coveted No. 10 shirt at East Bengal, Edmund returns on a three-year contract, determined to fulfil the promise that injury once denied - with his eyes set firmly on derbies, trophies, and a lasting legacy in red and gold.
