Francisco Boza Biography

Boza Dibos was born into a family with a rich history in sports. His uncle Enrique Dibos competed in shooting for Peru at the 1960 and 1964 Olympic Games. His brother Esteban Boza represented Peru in the sport at the 1984 and 1996 Olympic Games. His wife Jessica was the Peruvian champion in artistic gymnastics from 1977 to 1980.

Boza Dibos' father introduced him to shooting and remained a significant influence throughout his life. His father passed away from leukaemia in November 2012. Boza Dibos dedicated his gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games to his father, believing he was watching from above.

Achievements and Honours

Boza Dibos has been recognised for his contributions to sports. In 2015, he received the Olympic Torch and the Colibri de Plata (Silver Hummingbird) awards from the Peruvian Olympic Committee. He also had the honour of being Peru's flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

A shooting club in Piura, Peru, has been named after him, highlighting his impact on the sport in his home country. Boza Dibos' most memorable sporting achievement remains winning gold in trap at the 2015 Pan American Games.
