Aldrin initially tried high jump before switching to long jump at age 16. His physical education teacher encouraged him to focus on long jump due to his potential. As a child, he also competed in kho-kho, volleyball, and athletics.

Aldrin studied History at Madras Christian College in India. He trains at the Inspire Institute of Sport in Vijayanagar. His personal coach is Miltidatis Tentoglu from Greece. Aldrin is affiliated with JSW Sports and Tamil Nadu clubs.
