Josefa Idem Biography

Idem made history as the first woman to compete in eight Olympic Games. She represented West Germany in 1984 and 1988. After moving to Italy in 1988 and marrying coach Guglielmo Guerrini in 1990, she became an Italian citizen in 1992. She then represented Italy in six more Olympics from Barcelona 1992 to London 2012.
