In June 2008, Juliana suffered a significant setback when she injured the cruciate ligament in her right knee. This injury forced her to miss the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Despite this challenge, she made a strong comeback and continued to excel in her sport.

Juliana has received several awards throughout her career. She and her partner Maria Antonelli were named the Team of the Year on the 2014 World Tour.
