Sift took up shooting during her first year of high school in Punjab. Her cousin, a shotgun shooter, introduced her to the sport. Initially juggling between MBBS studies at GGS Medical College in Faridkot and shooting, she decided to focus solely on shooting in March 2023. She is now studying Physical Education and Sports at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar.

Sift's career is marked by numerous achievements. She secured a quota place for India at the Paris 2023 Olympic Games by finishing fifth in the 50m rifle 3 positions at the World Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan. She also won two gold medals at the 2023 World University Games.

At the World Championships, Sift ranked fifth in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event in Baku, Azerbaijan, with a score of 589. In the World Cup, she secured third place in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event in Munich, Germany, with a score of 593 in 2024.
