In July 2019, Zhan Beleniuk was elected as a deputy to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's Parliament. He became the First Deputy Head of the Parliament's Committee on Youth and Sports. Beleniuk aims to develop sports in Ukraine and promote a healthy, athletic nation.

Beleniuk's most memorable achievement is winning gold in the 85kg category at the 2015 World Championships in Las Vegas, USA. He also won gold in the 87kg category at the 2019 World Championships in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. These victories made him the first Greco-Roman wrestler from Ukraine to win two world championship gold medals.
