Convincing her father to allow her to pursue sports was not easy. Coming from a village in Uttar Pradesh, her father, a farmer, initially opposed the idea. However, her persistence paid off, and he eventually relented.

Her talent soon became evident. She became the first Indian female javelin thrower to cross the 60m mark. This milestone was achieved with a throw of 61.86m at the 2017 Federation Cup National Championships in Patiala.

I used to think that girls who came from cities and well-to-do families could only do well because they had better facilities.
