  • End of Over 20
Over 20. 10 runs. Bowler: Sherfane Rutherford. Afghanistan: 134/9 (rr 6.70)
  • 19.6

FOUR! Naveen-ul-Haq to Kieron Pollard. Length ball, outside off stump on the back foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. A flourish from Pollard to end the innings. Off the back foot and drilled between the fielders at cover and mid off.
Just what West Indies needed after some tough middle overs where they struggled to get it away. No trouble from Lewis in getting the ball to the fence as he blasted a 41 ball 68. The new ball is definitely key for Afghanistan and they should be aided by the dew making the ball slippy for the bowlers. A good chase coming up.

  • 19.5

It's taken quite some time but eventually Pollard gets hold of the slower ball and sends it into the crowd. The Windies captain is more than happy to let the bowler know where it's gone.

  • End of Over 20
Over 20. 10 runs. Bowler: Sherfane Rutherford. Afghanistan: 134/9 (rr 6.70)
  • 19.6

Sherfane Rutherford to Fareed Ahmad. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, missed to deep extra cover for 2 runs, fielded by Holder.
A truly dominant display from West Indies as they outplayed Afghanistan in every department and go 1-0 up in the series. 164 was too much for the home side to chase down and the start they got didn't help. Losing two wickets in the first three overs put pressure on the middle-order and with the slower balls sticking in the surface, boundaries were hard to come by. Kesrick Williams was impressive with figures of 3-17 while the captain chipped in with two wickets of his own.
Back here on Saturday for the second T20, see you then.

Top part of the bat and lobs up down the throat of Cottrell at long off.

OUT! Caught. Kesrick Williams to Rashid Khan. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Ramdin. Bread and butter for Williams. Once he gets the off cutter on the perfect line and length it is always hard for the batsman to get away. Healthy edge through to Ramdin who dives to his right and makes it look easy.
