Sunrisers Hyderabad notched up their fifth win on the trot as they handed Royal Challengers Bangalore a crushing nine-wicket defeat at the Brabourne Stadium on Saturday.
The Sunrisers gave their net runrate as massive boost with their completely one-sided win over RCB.
After electing to bowl first, Sunrisers bowlers put up a stellar show to dismiss RCB for just 68, their 2nd lowest total in the IPL.
In reply, the Sunrisers chased it down in just eight overs. After the bowlers did their job the young Abhishek Sharma (47 off 28) scored the bulk of the runs as skipper Kane Williamson (16) enjoyed from the best seat in the house as they wrapped up the win with 72 balls to spare.
With this SRH have five wins from seven matches. Meanwhile, RCB fell to their third loss in eight games.
Earlier, RCB were bowled out for the lowest total this season as they Sunrisers restricted them to just 68 runs. Virat Kohli's dismal form cotinued as he fell for another golden duck. Opener Anuj Rawat too fell for a duck as skipper Faf du Plessis was the first wicket to fall as Marco Jansen removed him for just 5 off 7.
Jansen was in stellar form as he picked up three wickets in SRH's second over to reduce RCB to 8/3 in 2 overs. The Challengers struggled as they folded for 68 in 16.1 overs. Suyash Prabhudessai top-scored with 15 off 20. The inform Dinesh Karthik was also removed for a duck as Jansen and T Natarajan pocketed three wickets each.
