Rahul Tripathi Biography

Rahul Tripathi is an Indian cricketer who plays internationally for India and Maharashtra in domestic cricket. He is currently contracted to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League having formerly played for franchises like Rising Pune Supergiant, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Born in Ranchi, Jharkhand on 2nd March 1991, Tripathi has a frame of 5 feet 9 inches and has a body weight of 64 kg. He is aged 32 at the time of IPL 2023. Tripathi is primarily a right-handed middle order batsman but has also been used as an opener due to his ability to play big shots. He can also bowl right-arm medium pace deliveries.
Tripathi made his debut in the Ranji Trophy for Maharashtra in the 2012-13 season. He was the leading run-scorer for Maharashtra in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, with 504 runs in eight matches. Ahead of the 2017 season, Tripathi was picked up by Rising Pune Supergiant for Rs 10 lakh. He made his IPL debut against Delhi Daredevils at the MCA International Stadium in Pune on March 9 in 2017. Tripathi made his Twenty20 International debut for India at the age of 31 against Sri Lanka on 5 January 2023.
In January 2018, he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 IPL auction and was released by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2020 IPL auction. He was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders at IPL 2020 Auction but released two years later. In February 2022, he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament for Rs. 8.5 crore.
