Bangladesh have sealed a comprehensive victory over Zimbabwe, winning by 48 runs in Dhaka to take a 1-0 lead in the T20I series. The tourists never got going in the chase with three of their top four failing to make it into double figures. Skipper Sean Williams briefly threatened but wickets off consecutive balls from Aminul Islam really derailed the innings. Some late hitting from Donald Tiripano and Carl Mumba made the margin of victory look a bit less embarrassing however they never looked like getting close. Mustafizur Rahman finished with three wickets in a typically varied display to go with a career best 3/34 for leggie Aminul. Earlier on, the hosts had piled on the runs thanks to Liton Das, Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar who all struck it sweetly. Soumya top scored with a rapid 62* which was a career best and for that he scoops the Player of the Match award. Zimbabwe have one chance left to win on this tour and that will be on Wednesday night.
